Their lifetime involvement and enthusiasm for Brass Band Performance
has seen both of them regularly return to the UK to enjoy the
Major contest Calendar as well as continue their involvement as
players,Robert at Congress Hall and Kevin after a lengthy break
is thrilled to be playing again this time with Warringah Concert
Brass in Sydney.
Having had successful careers in Banking and Financial Services,
they wish to channel this business experience into the Brass down
Under initiative which is aimed at encouraging and promoting excellence
in Brass Performance.
Recognising the important role played by community activities
which give expression to music making they are both committed
to developing a broader audience for the Brass Band movement,
this significant challenge is common throughout the World of Brass
Banding, to secure a wider audience in order to sustain the movement
towards a bright future.
At a time when the very best Bands have reached outstanding performance
levels the movement needs a range of initiatives to take it forward,
the opportunity to see and hear the finest players and Bands from
around the world will stimulate the local banding community and
give a great opportunity to widen the appeal to audiences young
and old.
